ZTE offers ZXONE 7000 for OTN in data center interconnect

ZTE Corp. (0763.HK / 000063.SZ) used last week's Next Generation Optical Networking and Optical Datacentre Interconnect event to launch ZXONE 7000, a stackable data center interconnect (DCI) platform. The ZXONE 7000 offers transmission speeds of 100 Gbps and above while adhering to the company's enhance Optical Transport Network (E-OTN) strategy (see "ZTE debuts ZXMP M721 CX66A enhanced OTN system").

The ZXONE 7000 is designed to offer small size, large capacity, low power consumption, and easy maintenance for both short-reach metro and long-haul data center interconnect applications. The system supports 1.6 Tbps per subrack, upgradable to 4.8 Tbps. Operators can manage the subracks via a variety of methods, including ZTE NetNumen U31, Web-LCT, and northbound interfaces in a software-defined networking (SDN) environment. The platform will support 10 Gigabit Ethernet/STM-64 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet/OTU4 services. The platform features a data center-inspired ventilation design with the air intake in the front and the air outlet at the back to increase heat dissipation efficiency.

"The ZXONE 7000 is specially developed for DCIs by ZTE. It can effectively satisfy users' DCI requirements, including operators, internet companies, large financial institutions, and conglomerates in many aspects including service access, transmission performance, maintenance management, operation reliability, and energy saving," asserted Chen Yufei, general manager of optical transmission products at ZTE.
